Some fool on the imdb board says that Jack does not use a usp compact, but an hk p2000. Is he the fool or am I?

you are correct that he does use a USP compact in rencent seasons in past seasons he used the sig p228, however the P2000 is just a dirivation of the USP compact, but the difference can be seen by the shape of the trigger gaurd and the handle.

Yeah the 24 weapon information around the internet is off most of the time. Gun Bunnie did an amazing service for 24 fans naming most of the weapons Jack uses throughout the seasons. IMDB is wrong wikipedia I think uses a lot of the information on the site as well and gets it right.

I'm hoping to add more information from the books here at some point....

I noticed the P2000 in season 5 as well. At the time I thought it was an error since he clearly carries a USP Compact the rest of the time. The more I considered this...the P2000 might've come from one of Heller's guards.

I do have a question...under season 6 it specifies the USP Compact as a 9mm... I was wondering if anyone knew where this information came from. I've never been sure if it was 9 or .40.

It would be close to impossible to confirm in the show but the teaser poster shows this. Pretty cool huh? :-)

Oh awesome, thank you! And yes it's very hard to confirm in the show... it's been driving me nuts since I started watching a month ago.

I'd like to thank all the 24 fanatics at the HKpro forums for finding that add (Especially MichaelVain and HK PDX.) Evidence like that is the holy grail of TV gun identifying, and I'd still be squinting at blury freeze frames of the DVD if it weren't for them.

As far as the H&K P2000 goes, yes there was one in season 5. It was Christopher Henderson's gun:

Which Audrey then takes after Jack captures him:

LRRP, the USP Compact is available in 9mm, .40 and .45 caliber. I have a buddy with a USP Compact in .45 . It's about 4 times louder than my Regular USP .45, FWIW.

USP's are so cool gunny i am very jealous of your belongings :-*

Anybody have a good suggestion for a good "first gun purchase"? It has to be cool looking though and not a 22

    :-P

Adam, the USP Compact also comes in .357 SIG. I find this kind of funny since the Fullsize USP doesn't.

Van, if your only criteria for a gun is that it's cool looking, it's going to be hard to suggest any given one as I find a lot of guns cool looking. :-) What is your intended use? (home defense, carry, target shooting, SHTF weapon, all of the above?) What is your price range?

Personally, I find the old two-tone SIGs the coolest looking handguns. The newer ones are dumb looking with their rails and non-accented controls. :-/

I suggest finding a local range that rents handguns and just go nuts. Good way to find what is comfortable in your hands. Keep in mind that pretty much every range that rents requries that you use their bullets in their rental guns. :-/

I've got a USP .40 Compact. It was my first gun and I got it about 3 or 4 years ago. They are just as good as you'd expect from seein' Jack pwn his way across Los Angeles. I've got about 14,000 rounds through it and done some formal training with it - never had a single Fail-to-Feed that wasn't attributable to aftermarket mags or ammo. If you can find a USP for a good price, they are amazing tools. I would suggest looking on www.gunbroker.com or www.gunsamerica.com .

Gunbunnie nailed it on the .357, too. Its got excellent velocity. The 9mm is a decent round but doesn't have the same energy transfer as the larger calibers (in general). A .40 S&W is good and a .45 ACP is excellent, too. I HAVE actually seen the USP Compact done in rare 10mm conversions, too.

But I'm biased... When looking for a firearm, just find one that fits your hand properly - not what looks cool. A firearm is worthless if you can't handle it properly. "Owning a firearm and calling yourself armed is like owning a piano and calling yourself a musician."

Please check out Jack and his gun at the flickr site of an ingenious artist who works with Lego, a sweet guy from the UK known as minifig...apparently there are lots of these guys out there making art from Lego. When I asked him to create Jack in Lego art, he did!

Yes, it is a Lego gun...

i have a question , i have been looking for a good handgun with a threaded barrel. i need something that is small enough to carry if i need to. the two that i have been considering are the sig p226r tactical and the USP compact tactical. i like that the usp is smaller but the sig has a greater ammo capacity. any help on this topic would be helpful

usp tactical all the way mate, but don't take my advice just re-watch season five, its easy to carry but also deadly powerful at the same time, but if u still want a second opinion i would advice u track down and talk 2 gunbunie he practically wrote the book on guns, just read any of his lengthy comments and you'll c wat i'm talking about.
